About us

We are Trial and Terror (16800), a robotics team from Calvary Christian Academy in Philadelphia, PA!

From September to April we participate in the annual First Tech Challenge (FTC), a worldwide robotics competition where teams are asked to build a robot for a different challenge each year. We're pitted against other teams in our area in hopes of making it all the way to the worlds competition!

Our team consists of students from the 7th-12th grades who all share a love for our team and the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) field!

The 2021-2022 season was our most successful yet. We were able to make it past the Philadelphia Qualifier and compete in the Pennsylvania States competition! We won awards such as the Driver Finalist Award, Motivate Award, and Winning Alliance Award. In a past year we won the Control Award as well!

Even when we're not in competition, we spend our time conducting outreach or preparing for the next years game.

Meet our team

Each department on our team performs tasks important for our success. They're responsible for designing, building, coding, financing, and driving our robot!

SOFTWARE

Thanks to the hard work and smarts from our software team, our robot can drive and even move on it's own during autonomous!

BUSINESS

Can't build a robot without proper planning and financing! The business team handles getting sponsors, documentation, planning outreach, organization, designing the website, and even getting the team's shirts!

HARDWARE

Hardware works hard to make sure we actually have a robot to compete with! After many, many different tests and designs, they create a bot no one can beat!

DRIVERS

Practice makes perfect, and our drivers don't take that term lightly! Day after day before competition, they hold serval practice rounds to make sure our robot is scoring its best during competition!

our mission

We aim to inspire and encourage students in regards to STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) and provide them with skills for their future
